HOW TO TAKE A MALE BODY MEASUREMENT

People take measurements of their body for different reasons. Some take their measurements in order to get clothes that are their right size, while some other people take their measurements to track their fitness progress. 1. GET YOUR MEASURING MATERIALS TOGETHER

2. PUT ON LIGHT CLOTH WHEN TAKING YOUR MEASUREMENTS

When you want to take the measurements of a male body , it is best to put on a very light cloth or fitted cloth, to ensure you get the right and accurate measurement. If you put on big cloth or cloth with heavy material, your measurements wouldn’t be accurate . Especially when you are taking the measurements to sew an outfit, the outfit would come out to be oversized. So always make sure you put on light cloth when taking body measurements.

3. MAKE USE OF MEASUREMENT CHART

● CHEST : To take this measurement, you have to put the tape at the height of the nipple. Allow it to stay level around the upper part of the back make sure the tape measure does not fall down low around the back. Hold the tape snug to the body without squeezing.

● NECK: Place the sewing tape around the neck at the height the collar would usually rest – just below your Adam’s apple. Hold your head in a neutral position while the tape should be resting lightly on the skin, not squeezing it. Wrap the measuring tape fully around your neck.

● WAIST : To take this measurement you have to just place your tape around the smallest part of your waistline.

● ARM LENGTH: To take this measurement ,you have to place your tape at the tip of your shoulder down to your ankle.

● INSEAM: This measurement is taken from your crotch to your feet.

● SHOULDER : your shoulder length is the length from one shoulder to the other. When you want to take this measurement, you have to place the tape at the tip of one shoulder to the next shoulder.

● THIGH: When you want to take this measurement you have to just place your tape around the fullest part of thigh or laps and take down the measurement.

● FULL LENGTH: To take this measurement, all you have to do is to place your tape at the tip of your shoulder down to your feet. Remember that while taking this measurement you have to stand upright.

When taking your measurements, always double check your measurements just to ensure that you are not making any mistakes and to also avoid any error. After taking your measurements the next important step to do is to take down records. Taking down your measurements is very important so you would not forget them.
